Are You a Pilot?
Surdex acquires aerial imagery and geospatial data throughout the United States. Our flight facility, located at KSUS – Spirit of St. Louis Airport, is equipped with ten customized aircraft that are meticulously maintained by our A&P mechanics on staff full time. Your safety is our top priority.
Our fleet includes Cessna 206s, 335, 414, and 441 Conquests
As an aerial mapping pilot, your piloting skills will be developed, and your daily flights will be varied. Your day will not involve taking off at one location and landing at another. Most of our flying is VFR, and you will precisely fly a grid pattern to obtain imagery and data.
As the solo PIC, you will partner with a Sensor Operator who manages the digital cameras and LiDAR sensors to ensure clear and accurate data acquisition.

Why Fly for Surdex
Our reputation as one of the best aerial acquisition companies comes from being highly selective when hiring pilots and putting safety first. We strive to retain the best crew by offering opportunities for growth. Our training program promotes advancement from single engine piston to twin engine to turbo prop as positions become available. In addition, we provide paid medical renewal and recurrent training for Conquest Pilots.
Our highly coordinated and experienced flight team includes schedulers, flight planners, project managers and four A&P mechanics with over 90 years of combined experience. Pilots are paid a salary, and this is not a seasonal job with unpaid time. We offer a flight bonus and full benefit package. The crew schedule is pre-planned with a rotation generally of two weeks on and one week off.
Each year we conduct a two-day training event to ensure best practices and safety. During the event we also recognize pilots’ achievements and award prizes for our annual photo contest.
