Simple description of a typical workday:
You will work with an Aerial Photography Pilot, who operates the aircraft. You will operate the camera and electronic position recording computer equipment. We need to deploy/sit on the ground at the remote location waiting for clear hours and days to execute cloud free photography. When the weather is clear, the big objective is productively getting as much cloud free photography completed as possible. The company pays all reasonable expenses. We provide a personal cell phone allowance of $9/wk and a prepaid calling card. This is not a creative photography role. Our busiest season runs from June through September, when you should expect to be remotely deployed continuously. During the year when not flying, you would work in our plant, in the lab, scanning of negatives or other work where you can be cross-trained. You work normally a 40-hour week, unless additional OT is required. You may also clean aircraft and maintenance of hangar facility. Your cross work capabilities are significant in setting your basic hourly wage rate. Work is performed in an aircraft, so any history or tendency toward airsickness could be a consideration. Some of the photography work is at higher altitudes where, in some of our aircraft, wearing an Oxygen Mask is part of the working conditions. You will need to load and unload equipment and change cameras in the aircraft, so lifting 100 lbs is also a job requirement. Applicants we hire will be required to pass a DOT required pre employment drug screening. Airport security requires state & federal criminal background checks. We also verify your driving record because photographers will frequently operate a rental auto while deployed out of town.
